I wish to have the Classic Explorer view open in the "old"
two pane view (with the tree in the left pane). Currently
I have to click the "Folders" button every time I open
Explorer to get this - a pain! (excuse the pun)

MS KB 307856, despite its title, does not provide the
answer.

Thanks

This may help: "Explorer.exe Command-Line Options for Windows XP"
Also try this: enable the Folders toolbar and then press CTRL while
you close the Explorer window.

Hi Ian,

To disable Common Tasks - Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/
Use Windows Classic Folders. Under the View Tab, check off Display simple
folder views in Explorers Folder List.
