open BE BUTTON on FE

I am trying to open the BE and have the FE CLOSE from a
button. But I can't find code to do it. I have tried different options
and none work.

I want to be able to sync a replicated BE but I want end users
to be able to get there easily.

Having researched all day I am out of time... any suggestions.
