open access 97 database with access 2003 without converting

I had Access 97 installed and just recently upgraded to Access 2003. Is there
any way I can still use the databases in the Access 97 format (as they're
tied to other xml components) without having to convert them to 2003?

It's still not working... if I don't convert it, it's only available in a
'view only format.

If you don't convert it then it will be read only as far as editing
*objects* is concerned. You should still be able to edit *data*. There
is no way to edit objects without converting it first.
