I recently switched from LOTUS 123 to Excel. I was told it would be no
problem to open my existing files. How do I open files with the extension
..123 in excel? I have tried renaming them, but it doesn't work.

Try asking your question in one of the microsoft.public newsgroups devoted
to Excel -- this one is for Microsoft Access database software.

Use File > Open...
Select "Lotus 1-2-3 Files (*.wk?) from the dropdown at the bottom of the file open dialog labeled
"Files of type:".

If you do not see this choice, then I suspect that you do not have a full install of all
available Excel features. If that's the case, pull out your installation CD and install the
missing import filters.
