OP System repair

HI.......I believe I have a problem with my operating
system, I have XP Home.
I need to run the OP cd software and run the repair
windows option, so if there is a problem hoefully this
will sort it out! I can't get to this function using the
revocery cd, so I need to know if I'm doing something
wrong along the way.
So far I have put the cd in the drive and turned off the
computer restarted and pressed F12 as instructed, then
boot from cd rom option, and that's where it ends.
So if any one out that can shed some light on this it
would be apprediated!
