Only getting connection one way on the network

My laptop connects to a local network via a router and we can access the
laptop from the network computers and upload material from the laptop. But
we can't do it vice versa. Trying to send material to the laptop gets and
error message and the network will not appear on the laptop itself. All
files are correctly shared.

Any ideas please

I would check the firewall first. Can you ping the laptop by ip?

Could be a firewall. Check to see if that is the problem first. If so, make
an exception in the firewall for your network subnet to allow access.
