Only 1 speaker works

I have a Toshiba Sattelite P20 laptop with integrated stereo speakers.
Recently one of my 2 speakers stopped putting out sound... I think I checked
all speaker settings and am now wondering whether it is hardware related.
Any advice?

Toshibas have gone down drastically in build quality over the last 3 to 4
years. One of the cheapest components on any recent vintage Toshiba is the
speakers. I used to buy Toshibas because they were well built, quality
machines. They no longer are. I will no longer buy Toshibas...they are now
among the most poorly built machines available.
