Hi all,
I was beta testing OneCare. It slowed my machine way down. I uninstalled
it but it left something behind. I am getting the follow Errors in
Application (in event viewer). They look like an SQL query.

Event provider attempted to register query "SELECT * FROM
__InstanceCreationEvent WHERE TargetInstance ISA "MPSSVC_Notification" "
whose target class "MPSSVC_Notification" does not exist. The query will be
ignored.

Event provider attempted to register query "SELECT * FROM

Event provider attempted to register query "SELECT * FROM
__InstanceDeletionEvent WHERE TargetInstance ISA "MPSSVC_Agent" " whose
target class "MPSSVC_Agent" does not exist. The query will be ignored.

I've tried virtually every trick to fix the issue you are having,
however the only solution I found was to perform a
"clean install" of Windows XP.

If you're beta testing WOC, you have access to the beta newsgroup for WOC.
Post about your problem there, Jason.

I'd be throwing that one back at MS Support, you'll probably see how much
they do care. **If** what Carey suggested is true, I'd be on the phone
chuckin' fire and brimstone at them, even just for the sake of it. Don't
suppose their going to charge money for Don'tCare.

Even as a Beta, NoOneCares is setup like a subscribtion service, only
the first year is free.

Yeah, I tried to set up the NoOneCares beta NG too, but only get the
microsoft.betanews.system.announce group. Been too lazy to deal with
it.

Please explain why you would test BETA software on your main PC?

Maybe it's the only machine he has? What would lead you to think otherwise?
Care to donate a second one to the OP?

One care is BETA software, and it shouldn't be used on any computer
system that is of any importance.

What are you talking about? Where did you read anything about
inportance?

It is almost part of the definition of Beta software that it should not
be used on mission critical systems. If you only have one computer,
then that is your mission critical system.

I have a test machine to test out Beta Software. Since MS doesn't take
responsibility to their Gold Software, installing Beta software should
be done only if you are willing to risk EVERTHING stored on that
computer.
