one user with password; want to add new user

Hi,
I have a computer that recently was restored to the
original configuration. My daughter then set up herself
as a user, indicating a password, but did not set up any
other user. She is gone for 45 days, and now no one can
access the computer. Is there a way to set up another
user without getting into her user information and
without restoring the system. I don't know if she has
saved information since the last restore, and don't want
to delete anthing. Any help is appreciated.

Debby,

Without the Administrator's password you are quite
stumped for getting access, the only way would be to
crack her password / change her password through MS-DOS
and some specific tools, and by the sounds of this I
would not suggest you try and do that.

Do you know way to contact your daughter to obtain here
password?. Did you try loginning in as Administrator and
seeing if the password was what it was before, i.e.
before the system restore.
