One Person open a database

L

Lamar

I have a database on network drive. I just want one
person to be able to open the database at a time.

Tools - Options - Advanced Tab and then setting the
Default Open Mode to Exclusive is not working.

Any suggestions? Thanks

That's more of a network permissions issue. You can limit the database
opening to 1 person editing it by denying delete priviledges for everyone on
the directory. If Access cannot delete the locking file, it will limit
everyone after the first user to read-only status.

They won't have any problem opening it. All Arvin said was that it would be
read-only for subsequent users.
