One of those dumb but necessary q's

I'd like to view NTFS perms on my folders/files. Currently, I'm not a member
of a domain. The security tab in folder/file properties doesn't exist. I am
an admin but not logged in as Administrator.

Is there a way to set or even view NTFS perms under these conditions.

Is there a way to quickly switch user into the Administrator account so I
can see the perms either thru the GUI or NT reskit tools? The only way i've
found to do this is by rebooting, hitting F8, going into safe mode and
logging on to the Admin account that was created during install.

I hope someone can help or point me in the right direction. I do acknowledge
that this info is available if i join a domain but I'd like to do it without
having to.

best regards,
Michael.

Hi Michael,

Try using default (Everyone=Full) share permissions and to set NTFS security
on all drives.

If you are running XP Pro then Folder Options - View and uncheck 'Use
Simple File Sharing).
