OK I did what I thought was a simple site for a friend of a friend in FP
2003. The guy says the site won't open in AOL or WebTV and I can't figure
out why since I made the site as basic as possible. Someone else said it was
because I didn't use a DOCTYPE so I went to the link they provided and tried
everyone but none of them will validate. Is there some reason FrontPage
won't do this? And is this why he can't see the site in AOL or WebTV?

Most likely not, although I see that you have used a valid HTML4.01 Loose
doctype.

The code is simple, and mostly valid. I can see no reason why it would not
open in either of those instances.

I did... and replied to them, though for some reason my reply to you did not
show up. For your comment I did not use a span style at all. At least not
that I am aware of... I tried to keep the site as simple as possible with
just images and tables.

For the next reply the person stated that I did not use valid HTML and I
replied asking if FrontPage generated invalid code and was assured by Thomas
A. Rowe that it did indeed generate valid code. And since I let FrontPage
generate all the code I assumed it must be valid. But then I ran across
http://validator.w3.org/ and now that I've tried the three basic ones I
can't get anything to validate.

That's just the last one I tried. I wen't through the three most common
one's and they all gave me errors.

Thanks. I'm starting to think that the problem is at his end. I downloaded a
WebTV viewer that someone here provided a link for, and although there are a
couple of small errors, the site is completely viewable.

FP generates valid code, but certain webbot component tags will never validate, and these tags do
not have any impact on the page being view in a browser.
