I am trying to set up my home pc to handle different people how ever with
the new look of xp I am having problems setting up local user group so that
I can assign permissions easily.

The default groups either allow way to much or not enough access.

Any help on how to set up custom groups in xp Pro would be greatly
appreciated.

Right click, My Computer, select Manage. Look for Local
Users and Groups. See Power Users.

Gerald,

Simply a shot in the dark....do you still have 'Simple Sharing' enabled?
Open up My Computer, go to Tools | Folder Options and then click on the View
tab. At the very bottom there is a check box for 'Use Simple File Sharing'.
Uncheck it and you should be able to do a little bit more.....

Is this what you mean?
