One Click Filter in Excel2007

In Excel 2003, selecting a cell in a table then clicking on the filter
icon (funnel) would automatically filter for the item(s) selected.

In Excel 2007 there does not appear to be this same kind of shortcut-
am I missing something?

I don't use xl2007, but in xl2003, you actually customized a toolbar to show
that funnel icon.

Maybe (????) you can do the same thing in xl2007???

Hi Steve/Dave

In Excel 2007 you can add this icon to the QAT but it only Toggle AutoFilter.
You can right click on the cell in Excel 2007 and choose Filter>by selected cell value

Yep, you can put it in the QAT (Quick Access Toolbar), click the big ugly
office icon top left, select
excel options > customize, from the dropdown in the "Choose Commands From"
select
"commands not in the ribbon", find the autofilter funnel and add it

Hi Ron,

I saw that too, it seems it works the same way although it is called
"Filter" there
Of course one can also use the keyboards Ctrl + Shift & L to toggle
autofilter

Not the same Peo

The one in the Data tab only toggle Autofilter and the one from
"commands not in the ribbon" filter on the selected cell value

You are correct, I didn't even test that

Thanks, Ron- it's not quite as good as one-click, but I guess you can't
have everything

As Ron said if you get the one in the "commands not in the ribbon" it works
the same way
as the icon in previous version and filter on the cell that is selected with
one click
