Please see "chart", specifically "Columns A, M, and O"

Column M adds Columns A, B, C, E, and G
Column O adds Columns A, D, and F

Column N: (looking for "S")
=SUMPRODUCT(--ISNUMBER(SEARCH("S",$A$8:$G$8)),$A$9:$G$9)

I'm afraid it did not add/total the row of "A" only (in column m) or the row
of "s" (in column o)...
