One address book

Francis

I have a desktop and a laptop. Both have XP as well as Outlook and Outlook
Express.

The address book, of course, I have to maintain on each machine.

Is there a recommended way, or is it possible, to have one address book that
I can share with my Laptop and Desktop? Invariably, I am on one machine and
what to send mail to someone in the other address book.

Although the machines came with Outlook 2000, I find Outlook Express faster
to load and seems to do what I want as far as me e-mail. Is there a
compelling reason for just using Outlook 2000?

Thanks.

What mail support mode are you using?
Internet Mail Only mode can be configured so that Outlook Express can use
your Outlook Contacts Folder as its data source.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'mail support mode'.

I have my mail accounts on both Outlook 2000 and Outlook Express configured
to point to my ISPs SMTP and POP3 servers.

Checking Express' help, I don't see anything (obvious that is), about using
Outlooks contacts.

Thanks for the reply.

p.s. I also use Express as my newsgroup reader. It appears that in Outlook,
I have to create a shortcut to point to use Express so I can launch my
newsreader from within Outlook? Any tips on how I can create that shortcut?

Thanks.

Line 2 of Help | About in Outlook reports your mail support mode.
Outlook already contains a shortcut to your News reader in the Go menu.
