onboard audio does not work

My PC uses K7S5A mother borad and Win2000, the audio is onboard.
Today I add an old sound card just for testing purpose, I disabled the
onboard audion from BIOS, boot the machine, and load the driver. The sound
card starts working fine.
Then I remove the sound card, enabled the onborad audio from BIOS, shit, the
onboard audio still does not work.

Do I have to remove the old sound card driver? or something else I have to
do? it should be a simple matter, but for PC, nothing is simple.

You should
or something else I have to
do?

Reinstall the on-board driver, if needed.
