ON ms WORD 2003.........When I type letters on the keyboard, they don't come
out and I get a message on the bottom : ..."This modification is not allowed
because the document is locked"..This also happens with Excel as I cannot
accss existing files

How do I resolve this?

You have posted this message to the wrong news group.
The access in this newsgroup's title refers to Microsoft Access, a
database product.
I would suggest you post to the appropriate Word newsgroup.
 
Hi Fappiano,

You might have better luck receiving a response to your question
by posting in one of the Word newsgroups. This particular newsgroup
is devoted to General Questions concerning the database product
called "Access" which is part of the Office suite of products.

Look for newsgroups that start like this:

microsoft.public.word

I'm sure many people will be able to assist you there.

Also, you should know that the newsgroup microsoft.public.access is for
questions related to Microsoft Access, the database software. Suggust you
post any further questions to either microsoft.public.word or
microsoft.public.excel.
