I just got a new Dell laptop with XP.......I've had Win98SE, so this is all new to me. I put myself on as Administrator and put my son on as Administrator too so that he would be able to download his own programs. I read that if he was Limited, he could not download anything. First, is this right? Then, I installed some games and found that they are also on his desktop and in his programs. Why did they do that if I installed them under me? How do I make it so that I can install and uninstall and it won't affect him at all and vice versa. He can put some programs on that will not show up in my files.........How should I have this set up? I want him to access all the Office Programs, all the programs that came on the computer, OE, IE........but be able to keep his things separate from me and vice versa.

Try changing himfrom administrator to user. He should be
abls to still download and install programs. You can
still access them as you are the administrator. Hope this
helps.

When I went to change his account, the only options I had were Administrator and Limited

According to the description of Limited, he can not download or install any programs..........that is not my intent. I want him to be able to download whatever, but I want it to be in his profile, on his desktop and not mine...............can this be done at all???
