on startup, system stops. Says insert system disk

On the first start up of the day, before Windows loads, the
system is stopping
every time and says to insert system disk and then it says it
is detecting floppy disk media.

I don't have a disk in the Floppy drive. I don't even have the
floppy listed in the boot up sequence. I can restart the computer
and then it doesn't happen again until the next time it has been
shut down and restarted. In the bios, I set the boot to only boot
from the hard drive and I still am getting these messages.

Could anyone please provide some help with this?

Thanks very much!

Its sounds like the hard drive is getting squirrelly. Or maybe isn't getting
a chance to spin up before the bios wants to boot. Do you have a 'fast boot'
option in the cmos/bios? disable it
power supply is suspect

Disable the floppy controller otherwise in a last ditch effort the bios is
going to look everywhere for a boot disk.

you don't, sorry, I was under the impression you thought the system
searching it, for no reason, was annoying.
