On Excel what does ##### mean when it is in a cell?

Usually means that the number is wider than the column. Make the column
wider and you should be fine.
 
It could also be due to a calculation that results in a "negative time".
Excel won't/can't display a negative time, so no matter how wide you make
the column, it will remain filled with ####.
