"On Enter" Macro?

Melissa

Hi

I have a form which has two options, one is a command button which you click
on to add a new contact, which takes to directly into the contacts form.
then next to it is a combo box which searches the contacts, but when i
select the record in the combo box and press enter, it opens the contacts
form blank, as if it wants to add a new record? could it be possible that
when i press enter its selecting the "ok" option which adds a new contact?

thank you

Melissa

Melissa,

I think you would need to give us the details of the macro, before
anyone could help with this problem. That means the Actions in the
macro, along with the Event the macro is run on. I am confused by the
the subject of your post mentioning "On Enter", whereas your description
would not refer to the Enter event of anything as far as I understand
it. Thanks.

Good day

Thank you for your response.

I have a form for clients, and then a seperate form which opens from the
switchboard with two headings: one heading is Add New Client, under this
heading i have a command button labelled: "ok", the macro for this button is
set to the following: On Click - OpenForm - Clients - in add mode. This
button works ok, when I click on it, it opens my clients form in add mode to
add new clients.

Then on the same form where i have the "add new client" ok button, i have a
combo box to search for clients. when i type the first letter of the
client, the "autoexpand" option finds the client name in the comboBox, but
when i press enter it opens the clients form in add mode as well? I had it
working fine at one stage, it would open that client that i selected in the
clients form and it was fine, until i added the "Add new client" command
button.

when i am searching in the combobox, it seems that there is kind of a dotted
block which appears around the "ok" command button, not sure how to explain
it, its like it moves focus from the command box onto the ok button, and
then when i select my client in the comboBox and press ENTER, then it
selected the "ok" command button instead of the client in the comboBox?

I hope this makes sense, im sorry for not being able to explain it better/

Kind REgards

Melissa
