old dc shows up in registry entries

Hello all,

We had two DCs in our win2k active directory domain. We have demoted
one of them (dc name : srvbackup) and disconnected from network. After
a while, we have found out event id : 313 source : licenseservice
informing us "replication of license information failed with
srvbackup.domainname.com.tr. We have checked Active Directy entries
and DNS entries if any reference exists for old dc but found none. We
have also followed steps mentioned in KB article Q216498; but old dc
did not exist there.

We made a search thru registry and found below records:
HKLMC\CCS\Services\NTDS\Parameters
Remote Connection DN Name
CN=b5e80af5-52be-4876-85b9-613c4fb74ddb,CN=NTDS
Settings,CN=SRVBACKUP,CN=Servers,CN=Default-First-Site-Name,CN=Sites,CN=Configuration,DC=domainname,DC=com,DC=tr
Remote Machine DN Name
CN=NTDS Settings,CN=SRVBACKUP,CN=Servers,CN=Default-First-Site-Name,CN=Sites,CN=Configuration,DC=domainname,DC=com,DC=tr
Src Config NC Srv
srvbackup.domainname.com.tr
Src Root Domain Srv
srvbackup.domainname.com.tr

We like to hear about what to do next.

Thanks in advance

Ertugrul

sounds like the DC might have been your licensing manger try moving that
role to another DC.

go to AD sites and services, then to the site your having the problems with,
click on the licensing site settings and then change the licensing computer.
