OL2k3 won't auto send/recv

Hi,

I am using Win Xp Pro, with Office 2k3 Pro. Recently, I am assuming due
to a microsoft update, OL will not do any send/recv when it's open or every
minute like it is checked to do. I just ran a detect and repair and it still
won't send/recv. I have to manually click it or press F9.

Any ideas on how to restore the send/recv?

Thanks.

Check Tools>Options>Mail Setup>Send/Receive
For All Accounts, "Schedule an automatic send/receive every".
Also, make sure you are not offline.

Hi Sandy,

Thank you for your reply. I have double checked, all are checked and
Outlook is working Online. It still doesn't check. I have to manually do it
still.

Thanks.

The first thing to do is to change that send/receive interval. One minute
is WAY too short. Ten minutes is the recommended minimum.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for your reply. I did at one point yesterday set the s/r time
to 15 minutes, checking whether or not it would check at a different time.
It wouldn't. No matter what time I have it set to, it still won't s/r.

Thanks,
J

If this were happening to me, I'd try two things. The first would be, with
Outlook closed, to rename the SRS file in %AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook and
restart Outlook. Its name should match your mail profile name and the file
extension will be ".srs". The folder %AppData% points to is a hidden
folder. The SRS file contains the send/receive settings.

The next thing I'd do is make sure my antivirus program is not set to scan
incoming or outgoing mail. I'd also increate the server timeout setting on
the Advanced tab of my account properties pages.

If these don't work, I'd try a new mail profile.

Hi Brain,

I'm in my Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook folder and I
don't see an extention for SRS. Are you referring to the outlook data file?

Thanks,
J

That's because I said it was in %AppData%, (C:\Documents and
Settings\username\Application Data) not %UserProfile%\Local
Settings\Application Data.
