OL2k3 ... inbox pane question

The word "inbox" above where I see all my new messages is normally just high
enough to contain the word "inbox" and the little folder icon on the top
right. Somehow, that header is now nearly 3 times as high and there is a
button below the word inbox. That button allows me to toggle
ascending/descending for whatever my current "arrange by" is (i.e. date,
from). How can I make that button go away and make the header less high??

that sounds like maybe the group by box - right click on the row of field
names and choose show group buy box - it should be selected now and
selecting it again will turn it off.
