OL2003 opening and running in offline mode frequently...

Scott

I have a few users who have a problem where outlook frequently starts in
offline mode, once they uncheck work offline it works as expected, but with
these 3 users it is very frequently defaulting to offline mode even though
their laptops are docked and connected to the network. It remains offline
even though these users are browsing the net, using the file server and
remote databases at the same time, it doesn't go to connected unless you
manually uncheck work offline.

....Anyway to keep this from happening with them?

Thanks!

Do you have their laptops set to automatically detect the connection state?

yes...they are default settings - the only thing I do in setting up outlook
on their machines is open outlook, exchange account, toss in the exchange
server name, username and put a check in cached mode and that's it. So, by
default they are all set to automatically detect settings.

Sorry for the thread-jack: how do you set up a laptop to automatically
detect connection state (using Windows XP)?

Thanks

In Outlook's email accounts settings for Exchange - it is on the General
Tab.
