OL 2007 Attachments open minimized

I have Office 2007 SB installed in my 2003 Terminal Server environment. For
some users, if they try to open a Word attachment from an email, it will open
minimized and you cannot maximize or restore it so that you can see it. If
you save the file first, it will open directly from where you saved it. It
only seems to
effect Word documents and it does not seem to matter if it is in the 2003 or
2007 formats.

Other users on the same server have no issue. From what I can tell, there
is nothing different with the settings from someone who works fine and
someone who cannot open the Word attachments.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have discovered that if I open outlook from the command line with the /safe
switch, I am able to open the attachment normally.

That's an indication you have an add-in causing you problems. Click
Tools>Trust Center>Add-Ins and disable everything. Stop and restart Outlook.
Enable them one at a time, restarting Outlook between each until you find the
one giving you problems. Then delete it.

That's what I thought too. But since my users are not admins on the TS, they
couldn't disable anything. After digging a little further, I found that it
was the "Reading View" that Microsoft Word uses. I fixed it by closing OL
and opening Word, went into "Word Options", and under "popular settings"
unchecked the box for "Open e-mail attachments in Full Screen Reading view".

Worked like a charm after that. I do not know why that was causing the
issue in the TS environment but do not miss it.
