Using Outlook 2003 with my Inbox folder selected and active I click View,
Arrange By, Current View and Unread messages in this folder but all
messages, read and unread still appear. How do I fix this?

both, trying."

Have you tried resetting the view? View | Arrange By | Current View |
Define Views...select Unread Messages and click Reset.

I did and it didn't change any of the settings.

Ok.... that seems to have worked. Now, how can I make the 'unread message'
view always include the preview pane on the right, and how do I apply the
view to every folder without manually setting a view over 100 times?

If you modify the view via the Define Views dialog (under View | Arrange By
| Current View), the changes should be visible in all mail folders. But
AFAIK there is no way to automatically switch to that view in all folders at
once.
