Okidata 410e image drum

I think the image drum on my Okidata LED Page printer is bad, so I ordered a
new one. The trouble is that the part number is 56116901 and not 56116801 as
is required. The one I ordered turns out to be for the 1000, 1050, 2200,
2350, 2400, 2450, 2600, 5050, 5300 and 5600 fax machines. It looks very
similar from Okidata's small pictures, but I highly doubt it will fit.

Does anyone know if these two parts are similar enough to work in my
printer? If not, I'll be selling the image drum.

Thanks

Contact the company you bought it from and let them know they shipped
you the wrong one. Give them the correct part number again and ask
them to replace the wrong one. Why should you be stuck with attempting
to sell a part you didn't order? However, I suspect that it is the
correct part and will fit and work in your machine. A lot of OKI's
printers share parts. Try it. If it works, great, if not, see above.

It's not really that bad if it doesn't fit. I got it in an auction for $20
along wih some toner. I guess saying "ordered" wasn't the right wording.
I'll give it a shot when it gets here and post the results.

I still think the printer needs to be serviced. There is a large blank spot
that runs down the center of every printout. I know the image drum needs
replaced because there are several obvious burn-in spots on every page (but
none in the blank area) and smudging. Plus the image drum looks rather old
and has scratches on it's surface.
