Ok, no blank screen, but now...

The windows installer won't come off the desktop. I posted a few days ago
complaining about a white screen that covered my desktop. Andre suggested I
do a system restore which I did. That took away the blank screen (thanks)
but now I have the Windows Installer trying to install something, but I have
no idea of what it is. I clicked on the cancel button, but it's been
canceling for 20 minutes now...and I'm getting tired of waiting. Anyone know
*why* it's doing that and *how* I can stop it? I'm really getting impatient
with this.

Thanks for the advice...but I think I found the culprit. I have Office Suite
2000, and when I installed it, Outlook didn't install properly...and still
won't. So I uninstalled everything, and voila...no Windows
installer...installed Office suite again...that Windows installer thing came
back. *Then* uninstalled just Outlook, and no Windows installer thing... so
there must be some sort of conflict with Outlook. It's ok though, because I
use Windows Mail anyway.
