ok I have two problems, one i have already aske for help with but.

Ok, here are my two problems. I have an ATI Radeon 9800 XT Pro 256 MB that is
capable of the 2000xsome resolution, and i know my monitor is cable of
displaying 1600x1200 nicley because i got windows xp to not use the plug n
play auto detect and auto use of pnp monitors. I knew i could use 1600x1200
nicely because somehow i got windows to stop using pnp. and Now I dont
remember what I did. I plan to install the most newly released revision
driver of 5.13 for Winxpsp2. The reason i want the resolutions so high is
because i happen to like to work in those resolutoins, and also when i try to
go to anything higher than 1300x something my monitor err windows xp displays
the higher up resolution as a blown up image which almost makes windows xp
barely useable. (other reason i want to disable pnp monitor detection). My
other problem is that I have IE 7 beta 1 for sp2, and I click on remember my
email and password on this computer for the passport stuff and it just wont
remember. every time it asks me for the password even when i had checked last
time to remember the email and password. If anyone could please help, thatd
be great. p.s. I do have cookies enable.

Your O/S does not set the refresh rate according to the screen
resolution correctly.
You have to manually set it.
(Display Properties/ Advanced/ Adapter/ List All Modes)
Check your monitor documentation for the correct refresh rate and set
accordingly.

As for your IE problem.
Sounds like your browser is deleting your internet cache when you exit
your browser.

Why wouldn't a tweaking program like Powerstrip work to overide the default
res/display settings? You can't disable Plug and Play hardware detection on
SP2. You might be able to overide it in kernel mode or from the BIOS. Maybe
you could change resource configuration using the device manager but
personally I wouldn't want to go there.

As for IE 7 beta This is the first I heard of it. Think I'll go have a look
see..

Visit the website for your monitor or check the CDs that came with it. You
need the .INF file for that model of monitor. Right click on it and select
install. If not immediate, after a restart, the monitor should be
recognized correctly and its full capabilities should be available.
