Offline Address book error

A couple of my users have started reporting the following error when synchronishing their mailboxes

Task Microsoft Exchange Server reported error(0X80070057). Could not complete the operation. One or more parameter values are not valid

Is it as simple as recreating the OAB and OST or am I looking in the wrong area?

It might be, but it could also mean that there is a corrupted item in one of
the folders that needs to be dealt with in order for the sync to complete
correctly or perhaps the latest SP is not installed. Does the
synchronization log show which folder it is having a hard time with?

This is for Outlook 2002

in SP3 for Office XP)

ps - you also might excluding the OAB/OST from antivirus scans.

Is the OAB even being generated by the server? The problem may lie there,
not in the client.
