Office XP issues with resizing charts/labels

I created a bunch of charts in XL XP

I copied the charts and pasted each into a blank slide in PP XP

Then I resized (enlarged) the chart area (proportionally, using the corner
handles only) to increase the size a little to better fill the slide.

On two charts, my category X-Axis data labels aren't printing. Instead, each
label is a large black box that is the size of the text area for each label.

The source font size in XL is 7 (non-autosize). On the charts that are ok,
the font size is 8...but I need 7 on these two charts so all the labels will
show.

Is this a known issue? It looks fine onscreen and in print preview.

Any advice appreciated!

When you paste into PPT, try Edit/Paste Special and choose one of the
Picture formats. Enhanced Metafile might be best here.

Does that help resolve it?

FWIW, ISTR an issue with chart fonts smaller than 8 point, but I'm not
sure what it is.

EMF was unsuccessful. I tried several options, and only one worked-
Within Excel, if I hold the shift key, it adds an option to the edit menu;
copy as picture
I then pasted the picture into powerpoint, and that was the only way to get
it to print

Since that is not an 'obvious' feature of Excel, and I would think that what
I see in
PP's print preview should reflect what is printed, I have contacted tech
support for the
company that manufactured our printer and the drivers (I am using current
drivers
and tried both PCL and PS printing). Hopefully they can figure it out and
provide
an alternative driver or other solution.

If you recall whether the known issue was a MS (PP), MS (Windows), or other
issue, I'd appreciate any leads so that I can do some searches and hopefully
have additional information for the vendor's tech support.

Thanks,
Keith

Here's one KB article:

This isn't the exact problem you're seeing, but it may have some
bearing.

None of these is exactly what I was thinking of, but maybe they'll give
you some ideas?
