Office XP Clipboard

Very often when I am doing work, I come across something
that I want to copy into a word processor. So I select
the text/pictures, etc. and copy them.

From there, if I open a regular word processor like
Wordpad I can paste it in no problem. However, if I open
Word, the program doesn't "remember" what was copied into
the clipboard. I have to go back to the original document
and re-copy it into the clipboard in order for Word to
recognize my copy command.

Way is this, does Word use a different clipboard? Is
there any way around this?

Hi Eric

If your copy of Word was installed as part of Works Suite, you have
the Works add-in stored in Word's Startup folder. This add-in, among
many other failings, clears the clipboard when you start Word.

If I'm right about Works, uninstall the Microsoft Works Suite Add-in
for Word (through Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs). You won't lose
much in functionality, but you'll lose this problem.
