Office XP 2002 Access 2000 or Access 2002??

I have Office XP 2002 professional on my pc here at work. My database that
I've created showes Access 2000 format. When I select about Access, it tells
me that it's Access 2002. Does Access 2002 automatically make it a 2000
format?

Also, when IT loads office on our computers they don't give us all the
extra wizards. By going thru my IT group is that the only way I can get the
add-ins? They've taken our rights away to add anything to our computers so I
can't even go to the Microsoft website to get anything.

I also have some problems with vb code not working. Are there any add-ins
that I need them to install that may not have been part of the extras when
they first install office? I guess they feel that no one used Office to it's
fullest.

Thanks,

Sheryl,

The Default file format may be set on the Advanced tab of the Tools, Options
dialog box. I believe it ships with 2000 as the default for compatibility.

Your code that's not working could be due to references to the proper
libraries. If you post specific code that's not working, I'm sure one of the
MVP's can tell you which reference(s) you need to set (Tools, References from
the VBA menu).

Many IT departments install a minimum installation for time and support
reasons. I would discuss the matter with your boss, and ask he/she to
request that the IT group reinstall the application per your needs.

Good luck.

Quick response, I'm impressed again. One more question for you. Since my
format is 2000, should I be only using help info referenced to 2000 and
ignore 2002 references. Security for example, MVPs suggest not using the
security wizard on 2000, but it's ok for 2002. Am I considered 2000 in this
case since my Access 2002 Database is in 2000 format?

Sheryl,

I'm afraid I can't help you on this one. My belief is that the problem with
the Security Wizard was related to the version of the program, not the
database file version, but I'm not certain.

Sprinks is correct - even though your database is in 2000 format, it's
the 2002 wizard that you're using, and it should be OK.
