Office versus works suite

I purchased a lap top and a desk top from Dell a few years back. The labtop
was purchased with Microsoft office and outlook and the desk top with Works
Suite 2002. I now realized that I made a mistake and need to upgrade my desk
top with the same software as my laptop. What is the most reasonable way to
do this and am I able to run my laptop software on my desktop? Both systems
are used by my wife and myself. I have the disks for both PC's.
 
Buy full version Office. You will legally be able to install it on both of
your systems BUT you cannot use both copies at the same time.
