Office Features and TS

Hi,

The Office ORK contains a couple of documents regarding
which Office Features should be turned off due to them
not running well under TS, such as Office Assistants and
other animations.

Whilst these docs have been useful, does anybody know of
any other articles dealing with which features can or
should be turned off to aid performance.

Those documents improve performance by reducing network
load by removing many of the animations and excessive
graphics. Try downloading the ORK and edit the
termserv.mst file. It'll give you a better idea of what
is going on. Any change you can do to reduce the number
of graphics displayed by your terminal server will
definitely help.

Hi Matt

Thanks for the input.

The customer already has 3 x TS running with Office
already installed. Can I use an edited .MST file to
uninstall the non-required parts, or should I uninstall
the existing Office entirely and then reinstall using the
edited .MST file,

Hmmm...I'm not sure about the success of using an edited
mst file to uninstall. The terminal server might complain
that it needs the original termserv.mst file to properly
uninstall everything. You might have the best luck with
uninstalling everything, and then using an edited mst file
to reinstall.

Just for kicks, why are you uninstalling? Is the
performance not good?
