Office 2007 + viruscontrol?

Huib

Hi,

When activating a document a viruscontrol is started?

I am using AVG, but on my ME PC also with AVG but Office 2000 the
viruscontrol isn't activated.

I have really no idea how to set it off : nothing to see in options of
Office 2007 neither in AVG , maybe Vista?

The option to check an MS Office file for viruses is in your antivirus
program. Adjust it there. If the option doesn't show up in another
computer, then the antivirus program on that machine isn't using that
option. This has nothing to do with Vista or MS Office.

Perhaps explain what you mean by 'viruscontrol' and 'activating a
document'
Hi,
I just mean opening a doc-file or xls-file via double click.
It is clearly seen on the bottom bar that a viruscontrol is started before
the document is opening.

We want to de-activate the AVG virus control in the office programs.

Don't Panic!
Hi,
Meanwhile a solution receveid from another forum :
via CMD / admin regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG7\avgoff2k.dll"
To reactivate it the same without /u

The question remains:
-is any file as attachment in an e-mail still scanned?
-why doesn't this nog happen on my ME with Office 2000 and with the setting
of the AVG - free version?

If your AV has on demand/real time scanning any attachment opened will be
checked, there is no need to intergrate the AV with your email app
I would imagine AVG for ME is completely different to AVG for Vista

Hi,
Thanks for the interest.
When i execute regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG7\avgoff2k.dll" than
an attachement is no more checked on viruscontrol when i want to open it.

The AVG on the ME is the exactly the same with the samen settings but Office
2000 is used.

The point is that i would prefer no viruschecking when i open an Office-file
from my PC but that a viruscontrol is of cause done when i open a file from
an e-mail attachment.

So, not yet clear for me.
Nevertheless thanks a lot.

I dont use AVG, but other AV I have used have seperate settings for
intergrating with Office & with Outlook
Intergrating with Outllook is unneccessary
Disabling the setting doesnt neccessarily remove it. It is some times
neccessary to uninstall the AV prior to reinstalling without the
integration.
The latest Version of AVG does not support WinME
AVG7 does not support on-access scanning in WinME
