I currently have a home network setup and all the
computers are a part of the same workgroup and running
Windows XP Pro. I do not have a domain setup because
there is not one specific server computer.
I've already gone into gpedit and enable the "offer
remote assitance" option for all of the computers on the
home network, but each time I try to "offer remote
assitance" to one of the computers it gives me
the "permission denied" error. I went into the option to
list the computers that are a part of the workgroup but
still I'm not able to offer remote assitance to any of
the other computers. I am able to use remote desktop for
all the computers, and I'm also able to connect to the
other computers with remote assitance if they send me an
invitation, but I would like to be able to intiate the
remote assitance session.
Is there a way to do this with being a part of a
workgroup and not a domain? Thanks for any assitance.
