Off topic but... Publisher

Jon

I know that this forum is about Word, but a few of the people who regularly
reply recommend using Publisher instead of Word in some instances. Could
anyone recommend a free on-line tutorial? I am reasonably proficient with
Word but have never used Publisher before.

Why don't you ask in the microsoft.public.publisher newsgroup where the
people who know about that application hang out?

I thought I'd try here since perhaps others might have learnt to use
Publisher after learning Word, who might have good suggestions.
But yes, I'll try out your suggestion.

Hi Jon

i teach both publisher & word and i find that if i'm teaching publisher to
experienced word users i find explaining that publisher is similar to word
but that you have to remember that everything lives in little boxes and the
secret to using publisher is a) remembering that everything lives in boxes
b) arranging these boxes c) linking these boxes.

Each type of thing has it's own box.- these are found on the Objects
toolbar. The formatting toolbar changes depending on the type of "box"
you're playing with - so if you can't find what you want on the toolbar
you've probably got the wrong type of box :)

Other than that - same rule applies - if you want to change something,
double click on it, if that doesn't work, use the right mouse button (this
is where you can delete a box).

Hope this helps
Cheers
