We have a machine that has 4 CPU's and need to know from the OS if they are
4 physical CPU's or two hyper threaded CPU's. Is there a way with in windows
to determine this?

Wayne;
If it is Windows XP Pro, it would have to be two CPUs with hyper threading.
Pro does not support more than 2 physical processors.
Also opening the case and looking would verify the # of processors.

Perhaps, but isn't it more fun to take the cover off and see what other
cool stuff is also in the box.

Yes, in the case of 2000 it shows all 4 CPU's and I know it's two HT (yes I
know it's not XP, but my XP box locked up on the System Tools in an RDP
connection).

Opening the case is not an option as the box is not physically accessible by
me, I connect to it via RDP, asking network support takes to long sometimes
to get an answer.
