I don't think that OE is doing this. Where does your mail come from? I
suspect that your mail provider is scanning for attachments and doing the
removing.
Click on the "Tools" button, then from the drop down click on the "Options"
tab. Now in the Options box click on the "Security" tab and uncheck the box
that says "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could
potentially be a virus".
