OE Loading dataset hang

When I load OE2003 V11.8 SP2, it hangs on the dataset for 10-15
seconds.
Is this because the .pst file is too large or I have many accounts. Two
are hotmail and others POP3.

How do I reduce the loading time of this OE dataset please?

You probably mean Outlook 2003 (OL2003); OE stands for Outlook Express.

- How large is your .PST file?
- Is it 2003 or 97-2002 format?
- Have you checked it for errors? (scanpst.exe; recommend backup first)
- Do you defragment the volume that contains your .PST sometimes?

Ah yeah, OL2003, not OE. I wasn't thinking.

3 pst files are:
Outlook 81361kb
Http 27783kb
Http 4977kb

* I believe it is 2003 format.

* I tried scanpst but it didn't work.

* Even after a defrag, it is better but still slow at loading from past
experience.

* I considered archiving but that'll delete all the history I need for
calanders etc and might affect recurring events in the future...
