OE blocks access to unsafe attachments

I have recently been getting a bar stating that OE has
blocked access to unsafe attachments. I know these
attachments are OK as I was able to open them until just
tonight. This has occurred since I received and installed
an auto-update from Windows XP this p.m. Any ideas how to
correct this problem?

I found it annoying as well.

To turn off this feature in Outlook Express, select
Options from the Tools menu, click on the Security tab,
and uncheck the box that says Do not allow attachments to
be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus. Once
you click on OK, you should be able to open your
attachments without any further trouble. But before you do
this, make sure your antivirus software is up to date, and
set it to update automatically.
