Odd program slowdowns...

On most memory using programs (not notepad, but games are one) I get a slowdown every minute or 2 that just about freezes my computer. It lasts for a about minute and the program runs once again smooth. As the program is there, it slows down gradually. Could this be a leak of some kind? Can I Fix this problem? It's getting VERY annoying

If it was me I would try and buy some more memory cards.
These should boost your computers speed. I might also
try reinstalling windows

ya, know, not everything needs to be fixed by reinstalling windows.
