Odd printing problem usb packard bell lexmark

Greeting!

I have a strange problem concerning printing. I have a packard bell
laptop and an old lexmark 2030 color ink printer connected to my laptop
through a "dickota" usb dongle. The dongle is a pretty standard hub
with parallell port, ps2, network port plus three usb ports.

Description:
The description for Event ID ( 6161 ) in Source ( Print ) cannot be
found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry
information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote
computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this
description; see Help and Support for details. The following
information is part of the event: Microsoft Word - Dokument1; Vidar;
Lexmark 2030 Color Jetprinter; NT EMF 1.008; 65536; 6196; 1; 1;
\\VIDARSIN; 1460 (0x5b4); .

I have at some point been successful in printing, but it seems to me
that disconnecting the hub - and later reconnecting - has screwed up
something. Reinstall does not mend the situation.

I appreciate it if someone more knowledgeable could give me som clue on
how to resolve my problem.
