Odd Printing Issue

Hi There,

We have several workstations where users log onto our Win2k Term Server and
have access to local printers. This works all fine and good. After the log
off and return to their usual desks, They often find their default printer
is no longer what it used to be prior to using the machine with the local
printer? Any idea why this might happen or how to fix it? I thought maybe
of writing a login script to set their default based on which machine they
connect from, but thought there may be a better way?

Thanks

Ben Cochrane

When they logon to the workstations (that later connect to
the terminal server), are their default printers being set
correctly? I was thinking that maybe their profile is
confusing the computers, since their default printers keep
changing based on what computer they sit down at and what
printers are connected to that printer.

This is possible if the default printer installed on the client is not
redirected from some driver mismatch or other reason.

Could you please let me understand where those printers are connected?
If you need to connect to the Win2k Term Server to have access to the
printers indicates they are installed on the server not on the client?
What type of access on TS have those users. Inside the session regular user
should see only printers from its own client computer (if there were any
installed) and printers installed on the server and connected to the server.
The default printer inside the session should follow default printer
installed on the client computer as long as the default client printer was
redirected. This rule apply even if the user change the default printer
inside the session.
