Odd Performance

John

I am using XP pro and IE6 all up to date. From Monday AM
until Wed 3PM the Internet runs very slow - painfully
slow at times (esp email at both hotmail and yahoo.)
After 3 pm on Wednesdays, it runs lightening fast. Even
while running slow-TOAST.net perf test shows 3350 KBS
performance on cable modem. Some sites -e.g. Google -are
fast all the time, but most are slow but only from monday
am to wed 3 pm. Anybody ever seen anything like this or
have any ideas? (I have done (1)a full virus scan, (2)
an sfc on the protected files, (3)created restore points
when going fast - restore says nothing has changed when I
use them, and (4) run Norton WinDoctor.)Any takers??

You may want to contact your cable ISP. That happened to
me and they had to come out and adjust my signal. This
seams to happen every time that they ad someone new to
the same node that I am on. They may have also switched
the node that you are on or added several people to it.
Good luck

Its called internet traffic, their is only so much
bandwidth to go around. The reason that some sites you go
to are not affected is problility because the route to
get there is using another junction.its really no
different than the freeway. People are at work using the
internet during those times and Thur./Fri they could be
off or called in sick or maybe just coasting till the
weekend.
