odd new entry on c drive

I recently brought my winxpsp3 system up to date. Now at the top of the c
drive I have a new folderd12cbc and so on that has in it two folders: I386
and AMD64. INside them are more files. Is this legit? Does anyone else have
it.
Should I keep it?
