ODBC SAGE LINK

F

Frank Murren

I have created a ODBC link with SAGE Line100 and a standard Access 2002
dbase.
I have created a table (and then a query based directly on that table) using
fields from the external data. This data is continuously updated during the
day.
When I run the query, the records are obtained but are then non-updatable.
I want to add a single additional piece of information (from a lookup table
I have created in my database) to each record imported from the external
data by using a simple data entry form.
This data entry form will be used to update records on a daily basis.
I think the answer lies in action queries but I have no real working
knowledge of these and so need plenty of guidance.
Can anyone help me with a simple solution on this.
Thanks to any reply--

Frank,

To the best of my knowledge the ODBC link that ships with
Sage is read only, and this is the reason you cannot
update using the query. You may need to purchase/become a
Sage developer to (see their website) to be able to
achieve your goal.

Please note I am not authoritive on this subject and
someone else may totally contradict what I have written.

Glenn.
